I have absolutely no idea if I have yet to meet you, or if I’ve already met you but have been blind all these time. No worries, I don’t intend to dwell on the what-ifs and what-could-have-beens. I hope you think this way, too.
I want you to know that I’m looking forward to our love story, and to the time we’ll be spending together in the future, but that I am in no hurry. I believe that everything will fall into place when the time is right, so I choose to be patient.
In the meantime, I’ll enjoy whatever simple pleasures that may come my way. Don’t worry, I won’t overindulge. Well, maybe a bit.
I’ll work hard, have fun with my friends, and explore the world. This way, when I finally stand on the precipice of being with you, I can safely say that I’ve had my fun and I’m ready to jump right into you without a parachute.
A bit of warning though. Years of independence have made me self-reliant, and so it might take a bit of adjustment on my part to share more of myself with another person. Please be patient with me.
I want you to know that I’m excited to get to know you, your ticks, your habits, your nuances, and every little detail I can get ahold of that pertains to you. I want to know all the nitty-gritty details you don’t share with the world, and all those internal monologues at the top of your head. I want to know you inside-out from head to toe. I’m a little selfish this way, but I hope you don’t mind.
I also can’t wait to let you in on all the chaos inside my thoughts. My thought-process is messy at best, but I can promise you it’ll be fun. I can’t wait for you to pick my brain and draw out all the silliest ideas.
For now though, I’ll be patient and wait. Take your time, because I’ll take mine, too.
Oh, and hey, I promise we’ll have fun when we finally get together.
